THE REAL INNER CHILD

Treat your subconscious as a child.

Treat your subconscious as a child.
So full of life it never stops moving.
Yet so delicate it deserves gentle care.
Able to imagine and see the world in colors and shapes beyond what adult eyes can comprehend.
While also blind to the rules and regulations layered like sediment as the years pass.
The subconscious is at once innocent and loving as it can be cruel and limiting.
Without a relationship with you it is lost.
Stuck at a young age and afraid of any change that might welcome disaster.
It takes in millions of bits per second and filters according to what is known.
It controls thoughts and emotions before you ever realize it.
Building a relationship opens the potential for conversation both ways.
Treat the subconscious as a child so that it is less afraid.
So that it trusts you.
Ask this child if it would like to play a game.
When you recognize something you don't want, something that doesn't feel good, ask the child to identify the source.
Because you created it you can change it.
In partnership with the subconscious you can rewrite the source code.
Turn the pain into a reframe.
Remove the thorn.
And breathe deep with ease.
Treat the subconscious as a child and the world becomes your sandbox.
